The attempt at recall undermines the continuity of the Council's progress in Oro Valley!  The leadership several     years prior to the majority elected in 2010 was cause for concern among citizens as well as current and potential businesses.  Previous lack of continuity has held Oro  Valley back and slowed its progress. I believe our citizens want to see the trust and advancement of vision that has proven successful over the last five years.

The following highlights appear on the November 2015 ballot as my answer to the “claims” of the recall petition organizers.

  • The claims made above are grossly inaccurate.
  • The town is under no long-term financial obligation, and can sell at anytime.
  • The 0.5% increase does not apply to groceries, medicine or gas.
  • The 324 acres, 31 tennis courts, 2 swimming pools, recreation center, etc. are valued at over $3 million. The purchase price of $1 million is a bargain!
  • Five consecutive years of balanced budgets with cash surpluses.
  • Investments we’ve made for our community: Aquatic Center, Naranja Park and Steam Pump Ranch, protecting scenic views on Oracle and La Canada, improving services
  • Cutting costs: Library, Coyote Run
  • Protecting open spaces
  • Securing our town’s water future.
